Short version: The Free plan stores your prompts locally in your browser only — nothing leaves your device. The Pro plan adds optional cloud sync using your Google account. We do not sell your data, track your browsing, or read your AI conversations.
1 Who We Are
Promptly is a Chrome browser extension developed and operated by Pluly (pluly.co). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Promptly extension.
By installing or using Promptly, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2 What Data We Collect
The data we handle depends on which plan you use:

Promptly never reads, stores, or transmits any content from your AI conversations (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) or any other website you visit.
3 Chrome Permissions We Request
Promptly requests only the permissions necessary to function:

We do not request history, bookmarks, cookies, webNavigation, or any other permission beyond what is listed above.
4 How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect solely to provide and improve the Promptly extension:
- Store, retrieve, and display your saved prompts
- Rank and filter prompts by relevance, recency, and usage frequency
- Sync your prompt library across devices (Pro plan, with your explicit sign-in)
- Verify your Pro subscription status to unlock Pro features
- Restore previous versions of edited prompts (Pro plan)
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than operating the extension.
5 Data Storage & Security
Free plan — local storage only: All prompts are stored exclusively in chrome.storage.local on your device. No data is transmitted to any server. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.
Pro plan — cloud sync: When you sign in with Google and enable cloud sync, your prompts are stored in a Supabase database (hosted on AWS infrastructure). Data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Access is enforced by Row-Level Security (RLS) policies — only your authenticated account can read or write your data.
Authentication tokens: Google OAuth tokens obtained via chrome.identity are stored in chrome.storage.local and never transmitted to any third party other than Supabase for authentication purposes.
6 Third-Party Services
Promptly uses the following third-party services for Pro plan functionality:

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.
7 Data Retention & Deletion
Local data (Free & Pro): Stored as long as the extension is installed. Uninstalling Promptly from Chrome permanently deletes all locally stored data.
Cloud data (Pro): Retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, all your data is permanently removed from Supabase within 30 days.
To delete your account and all data: Email privacy@pluly.co with subject "Delete my account". We will process your request within 30 days and confirm when complete.
8 Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your data (see Section 7)
- Portability: Export your entire prompt library at any time using the Export JSON feature in the dashboard
- Objection: Object to processing of your personal data

9 Children's Privacy
Promptly is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via an extension update notice or email (if you have an account).
Continued use of Promptly after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
