Does Promptly interfere with the ChatGPT experience?

Not at all. Smart Bar never pops up on its own — it only appears when you type ply: or click the button. When not in use, Promptly is completely invisible — ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini look and work 100% normally.

Are my prompts stored on a server?

The Free plan stores everything locally in your browser — nothing is sent to any server. The Pro plan adds cloud sync across devices, with data encrypted end-to-end.

Does Promptly work on Firefox?

Currently Promptly supports Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc...). Firefox support is planned for v1.2 — follow us to get notified when it launches.

How do dynamic variables work?

You create prompts using the {{variable name}} syntax — e.g. "Translate to {{language}} in a {{tone}} voice." Each time you use it, Smart Bar asks for values and previews the result before inserting into chat.

Do I need an account to use Promptly?

No account needed for the Free plan — install and start using immediately. Signing in with Google is only required for Pro features like cloud sync, which keeps your prompts in sync across devices.
